Our Parent Community

DMW is all about community! We love to welcome new families, connect with and celebrate our community.  Each quarter we hold an exclusive DMW event for our Parent Community to share experiences and support each other. We learn and grow from sharing knowledge, insight into early childhood practices, and our day to day experiences as educators and parents. We welcome feedback, ideas and see every challenge as an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. It is a special way we can connect with our families and learn from each other, all while having a great time (adults only!). Some of our favourite occasions include our annual art auction, trivia night and family xmas event.

Information evenings have so far included positive behaviour guidance, speech & language development, transition to primary school, service communications, children’s development and more! We appreciate parents as primary caregivers and want to embrace this relationship in order to benefit the children whom we care for each day.

Parent Info Sessions

At Discover My World, we offer our families lots of opportunities to learn more about what we do at the service as well as tips & tricks to use at home. In the past we have held comprehensive Q&A seminars focused on toilet training, behaviour management, the importance of sleep, ditching the dummy, Centrelink entitlements, speech pathology, developmental milestones and additional needs. If you have a suggestion for our next topic, please leave it in our 'Suggestion Box' at the front of the service.

Community Events

We are so lucky to be part of such a wonderful community and we've worked hard to create the amazing Discover My World family! Throughout the year we host events to recognise the special relationships between families and give parents an opportunity to mingle with other members in the community. Some of these events include our annual Art Auction, parent info sessions, Grandparent Picnics, Mother's Day & Father's Day events, fundraising initiatives, barbeques and our popular end-of-year Xmas Parties!

Giving Back to the Community

At Discover My World, we are passionate about giving back to the community. Each year we host a variety of fundraisers and participate in events to do our part for those who are less fortunate. We are proud of the community we are part of and love to give back! We achieve this in many ways so everyone part of the DMW family can participate.
