At Discover My World, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the state.

A better understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures develops an enriched appreciation of Australia's cultural heritage and can lead to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity.

 

OUR SERVICE PHILOSOPHY

We believe in creating an environment that is caring, loving and nurturing where children are treated with equality and their cultural diversity is embraced. At Discover My World Early Learning Centre, our aim is to build genuine connections where feeling safe, secure and a sense of belonging is paramount.

 

Partnerships include children, families, educators and the local community, with families being the child’s first and foremost teacher. We actively invest in our team, cultivating a positive workplace culture of trust, honesty and respect.

 

We believe in creating inclusive environments that support individual and group needs, and providing play-based experiences that enable choice, autonomy and confidence.

 

Through ongoing reflection, we strive to improve our practice, our program and our environments. In doing so, we believe the voices of children, families, educators and the local community are critical in achieving the highest standards of education and care.

 

We believe that children’s learning and wellbeing is important when planning our program and environment. This is acknowledged through the Code of Ethics and the Early Years Learning Framework. We acknowledge Indigenous people and value the diversity of our community, which is reflected in our daily routines and practices.

 

We believe that teaching our children to live sustainably and striving to embed eco-friendly practices on a daily basis is an important part of our program.

 

We believe in a holistic approach to children's wellbeing and providing meaningful learning experiences that nurture every child's developmental journey. Through thoughtful interactions, we give children the opportunity to thrive in their environment, enjoy the wonders of early childhood and develop strong foundations for life.
